CWS Welcome Backpacks

| Overview

There are currently hundreds of unaccompanied children in the Houston area that need support! Most of these children have seen intense violence and were forced to flee their home countries with what little they could carry. After traveling thousands of miles full of uncertainty, they are gearing up for their newest journey here in the United States: school!

For any child, the start of school comes with both nerves and excitement. For children who are new to this country and don't have school supplies, it can feel terrifying and lonely. CWS' Welcome Backpack program provides backpacks filled with supplies for unaccompanied children ages 14 and up to help them feel prepared and ready for success at their new school.
