Internship Opportunities

Valuable Learning Experiences for Social Work Students

Church World Service (CWS) Houston is dedicated to collaborative and sustainable, programming which supports immigrants, asylum seekers, unaccompanied children and other new arrival, mixed migration populations. At CWS Houston, we welcome people from around the globe into lives of safety, hope, and opportunity through direct services, advocacy, leadership development, and relationship building in the community. Church World Service (CWS) Houston offers experienced social worker supervisors who oversee graduate-level social work practicum students in providing services including case management, clinical counseling, psychoeducation, community engagement, and care coordination. Students will receive diverse educational experiences that align with their specific learning objectives.

Learning Opportunities

Clinical Services

Students in their final, concentration year will have the opportunity to provide mental health services to newcomer families including assessment and triage, individual, family, and group counseling, and psychoeducational workshops.

Case Management

Students in their foundation or concentration year will have the opportunity to provide case management and supportive services to newcomers.

All students must be bilingual and speak both English and Spanish
